Never seen anything like these before, came from a collector who had them for 25 years, they where made by James Howarth Sheffield so are over a 100 years old, they are 27†inches each in length, would have been specially made for the owner who has very nicely inscribed his name in the steel “Thomas Rosser Loughor “ Loughor being the town in South Wales were he would have lived, the chisel is 1 1/2†width and the gouge is 1 1/4†width, these have been display pieces for the past 25 years but probably made for a special job originally.
