The stamp has the early Zborder around it dating the plane to 1818-1821 William Parkes worked out of 37 Staniforth Street in Birmingham for just three years so quite a scarce plane to find, the plane is in good working order with a full length clean steel skew iron and the clean scribe iron is present, the depth stop is moving smoothly, good wedges the adjustable fence has nice brass fittings for tightening against and sole has a nice boxwood inserted edge piece. A great working plane from an early maker.
