This plane looks just great and more so with the dark stained Pitt marks to the steel, the steel is of dovetailed construction with the word “STEEL” on the very front, the rosewood is fantastic and the front bun is stamped with the makers stamp as is the brass lever cap, the cap iron is original Mathieson and measures 2 3/8” width the iron is a replacement measuring 2 1/4” and stamped Geo Preston & Sons Sheffield. Plane width measures 2 13/16ths “ a great plane.
