A very rare model to find these days, the improved pattern mitre plane, with clean steel dovetailed sole. The iron original to the plane also by Mathieson is full length, has makers name on front nose of plane partially visible as overstamped by the ex owner. The front is stamped “STEEL”. One the iron is set the mouth is super tight. It looks as though ex owner has cut a mitre whilst resting the bead on the front bun and has cut into the infill slightly how horrific he must of felt doing so!! Otherwise as stated a very rare model plane.
