A hefty axe weighing over 3.1/2 kgs, has a nicely shaped 19” long shaft. The steel head is 12” height with a single bevel cutting edge of 8” across, the head is stamped by the maker BURELLIEP. A.la palagne an area in France. It is decorated with two swift birds and two clover leafs. The head has movement but there’s plenty of meat on shaft end to refit. Aged blacksmith hammered finish.
