A great axe with very clean steel and a 15” shaft, it has a makers stamp that I’m told is German. The head measures 7” by 3 1/2” , the leather sheath is very well made and stiff leather that has a buckle to tie the sheath onto a belt. There is a small compartment that would have held something like a small compass maybe? That has a strap to secure whatever it held in position, a well made tool.
