A rare and gorgeous looking Kent pattern hatchet, the makers stamp and Logo of James Howarth Sheffield along with their address is crisp in the steel, at the top of the poll is also stamped “ HARD STEEL HEAD” it has an ex owners initials to one side of the head, the head is solid on the shaft, the edge measures 4” across and has a double bevel edge that has a mirror finish which is razor sharp. The shaft measures 17.1/2” long, an absolute gem of a tool.
