An early plane with the fat low front knob, we think the plane is a special made order to fit into a jig as it has a “V” groove along each side of its side walls, there’s no reference we can find anywhere that shows this detail. The only words in the casting is those on the heel UNION NO.7. The handle has a solid glued repair. Iron stamped UNION MFC CO NEW BRITAIN CT.U.S.A. A clean steel plane that has all early features.
