45” Inch J.LONG LONDON Boxwood Customs Slide Rule. (39504)

A boxwood rule that is in very good clean condition with all markings clear. Made from boxwood and measuring 45 inches long by 1.7/8” wide and a thickness of 3/8”. Stamped “VUSTOMS” on one edge and on one of the faces the maker of “J. LONG 43 EASTCHEAP LONDON”. The inner section slides back and forth, I’m told used to measure barrels? Length and diameter. There is a marking of SPHd adjacent to one of the brass stops. Along with an inlaid brass diamond piece just a little further down the rule.
