PEUGGEOT FRERES Cormier Wooden Smoothing Plane .(41005).

This is quite a heavy plane made in France from the Cormier tree. It is stamped on top “GARANTI CORMIER” the plane is made out of two pieces of wood with the joint being disguised in the middle of the double reed moulding around the plane, front nose stamped number #44 with the makers trademark. The 1.3/4” width iron stamped a PEUGEOT FRERES, with double lion logo. Cap iron is strange as it’s solid steel with no slot or screw it’s simply held by the wedge to lock the iron tight. A really nice and heavy wooden plane, belonged to a Luthier whom worked out of France and now returned back to the U.K. Plane measures 8.7/8” in length and in width measures 2.3/8”.
