Rare Summers VARVILL Wide Chisel. (40152)

A rare and early tool maker, dating between 1820-1862. A strange  1.29/32” in width with an elongated neck, it’s definitely been re handled at some time with an ash wooden handle and a steel striking hoop on the end. Marked on the neck by the ex owner and some chips on where tang fits into the handle, everything is solid and full length is 13” long, wooden edge protector.
