A great clean steel plane, everything on the plane is original, no breaks to either handle or front knob, on the front of the casting is a number 117 this number is also on the original Stewart Spiers iron that has a good length on it, the cap iron also stamped Stewart Spiers Cast Steel AYR Scotland. The lever cap has nice embossed letters “SPIERS PLANE -O – AYR. AYR” So an all round neat little smoothing plane with lots of usage left in it.
