Early 13.7/8” Screw-Sided Spiers Ayr Panel Plane. (36961)

A very rare screw sided panel plane that has near invisible dovetails to the steel. The infill is mahogany, early brass bridge that has the upside down SPIERS AYR stamp.typical shaped early wedge, the plane measures 13.7/8” in length and a width of  2.7/8” . The iron is by I&H SORBY whilst cap iron is WARD both are 2.1/2” width. The steel has the aged pitted look with infills held by early screws. The front bun I’m thinking has been cut down in height as probably suffered damage at sometime it’s much lower than should be.
