SPIERS AYR 10.1/2” Mitre Plane. (43309)

A nice plane with a 10.1/2” long sole by 2.3/4” in width, the infills are rosewood with an ex owners name on the front infill. The steel is dovetailed and almost invisible to see them as the steel has age coloured lovely, the sneaked iron by ward measuring 2.1/4” in width has a number #2 unusually towards the cutting edge that is razor sharp, as does the rear infill where the iron sits, so iron original for this plane and sits tight in the very tight mouth. A lovely old mitre plane becoming hard to come across these days.
