User made adjustable gunmetal smoothing plane. (43337)

A cast gunmetal smoothing plane with a sweated on steel sole, I would think design was of the Norris A15 ? It’s a hefty plane the sole measures 9” long by 2.1/2” width, both iron and the cap are by ward and measure 2.3/16” width. the adjustable mechanism works to adjust the cutting depth although a narrow slot so not much of a lateral adjustment. There is a small crack to bottom of inside of front bun that has a little movement, think crack could be where side screw inserted? Steel sole has age related rust colouring. Feels good in the hand and a good example that’s had some time to construct.
