Scottish Design Cast Steel Infill Smoothing Plane. (35996)

A cast steel body in the Scottish design, has a wonderful shape to this plane, rear closed handle has a chip on its spur, could be reshaped or repaired, the front bun is overstuffed, it has a small hole to bottom in front of the lever cap. The lever cap has a rich bronze colour to it. Nice screw on lever cap. Sole measures 8.7/8” long by 2.1/2” width. Mathieson 2” width iron. Robt SORBY cap iron. 3/4” life left on the iron. The iron sets tight in the mouth.
