Fantastic SPIERS AYR Dovetailed 17.1/2” Panel Plane. (41674)

A gorgeous looking 17.1/2” dovetailed steel panel plane, this was the largest of the panel planes with the extended toe and heel. The lever cap has a rich colour to the brass and script type trade mark. Rosewood is very nice too with ex owners name stamped. The iron and cap iron both original with the “Stewart Spiers” trademarking, the iron stamped with number #48 as is the plane infill behind where iron sits. The iron is wearing away but dies have some life and sits very tight to the front of the mouth. An absolute gorgeous plane.
