Rare patent Spiers-O-Ayr 15.5/8” Dovetailed Panel Plane. (37624)

These patented planes are very scarce, the dovetailed version is prior to the malleable iron ones that later proceeded these. The dovetails near invisible, the length is 13.5/8” by 2.7/8” wide, the iron is a Ward & Payne most probably original the cap is a MARPLES. Infills are rosewood with a wonderful spliced repair to the spur tip. A nice scarce plane. Minor light pitting in places.
